Ocean Oracle designs
What do you do when you love creating art work that feeds your soul and want to share it with others? The answer for me was to incorporate The Ocean Oracle with said artwork and build a new website: Ocean Oracle designs. The ocean and the land where I live inspires creativity and I am grateful to, at least for a moment, call Block Island home. The Ocean Oracle is a 45 card oracle deck based on the ocean and the healing effects it offer (more about that below), and my art endeavors range from printmaking to acrylics to hand-printing wearable/useable art. Please enjoy the website and thanks for stopping by.
The Ocean Oracle
The idea for The Ocean Oracle came to me early one morning and it was an ‘ah ha!’ moment I am grateful I paid attention to. For a number of years I had been using Tarot and oracle decks to help with my own growth and healing but something was missing from the decks available: the ocean. I have always felt nurtured and supported by the ocean and its ability to heal, and I wanted to capture that healing power with Story and Messages. The result is The Ocean Oracle. While I created this deck for my own journey, friends I shared it with told me they thought it was powerful and were loving what it offered them in their own practices and maybe I could consider making it available to larger audiences. Over time I went from hand-building decks to the current form of the Tarot-sized deck available here. I am continually amazed at the power the Story and Messages The Ocean Oracle offers to those who are looking.
Meet the Artist
Thanks for stopping by. My name is Sue and I’m an artist and Bowen therapist living on Block Island, RI. I came to art later in life while living in a small town in the mid-western region of NSW Australia. When I was introduced to print making using linoleum, I was hooked. It has been a steady medium for me ever since that first day carving a lino block. I also work in acrylics and dabble a little bit in watercolors. I find creating is a good therapy for me: body, mind and spirit. It feels like something I do just for me but I love when what I’m creating resonates with others, whether it’s through written word or visual art.
