Mornings on Mansion Beach are one of the best parts about living here. I have been coming to this beach, walking its shore, exploring it in all weather, for my whole life. It grounds me more than any other place on the island. I love being able to photograph it every time I am there. There are some days on the island where it is so still you think the ponds are glass. On these rare days, taking photos of favorite places takes priority. Capturing the pylons at the Boat Basin, after the docks have been hauled in for the winter, makes for an eerie and beautiful photo.
